How does the class rescue calculator work?
Enter each graded assignment with its weight and earned grade, then mark future assignments as "Future." The calculator finds the average score you need across all remaining work to hit your target — accounting for each assignment's weight in the final grade.
What if my weights don't add up to 100%?
The calculator requires weights to total 100% for accurate math. If your syllabus defines 90% and leaves 10% for participation, add a row for the undefined portion so every point in the course is accounted for.
Can I still pass if the calculator says it's not possible?
Mathematically, no — but some professors offer extra credit or drop the lowest grade. Check your syllabus. If the target is out of reach, the grade ladder shows the highest grade you CAN still achieve so you can reset to a realistic goal.
Is this the same as a final exam grade calculator?
Yes — add your final exam as the only "Future" assignment with its syllabus weight. The calculator tells you exactly what score you need on that exam to hit your target.
How is OVR IT different from this calculator?
This calculator gives you the number. OVR IT takes that number and builds a daily task plan ranked by grade impact using a recovery-first approach to falling behind — so you know what to study next without having to figure it out yourself.
