1. Who We Are
OVR It Studios ("we," "us," or "our") operates OVR Mission Control, an AI-powered study app designed for college students. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our web application at ovrit.app.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and username. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.
Academic Data: Syllabi you upload, courses, assignments, grades, and study session data you enter into the app. This data is used solely to power your personalized study experience.
Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with the app, including pages visited, features used, session duration, and device/browser information.
Payment Information: Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number. Stripe's privacy policy governs payment data handling.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to provide and improve the OVR Mission Control experience, including: delivering AI-powered study features (grade predictions, task chunking, syllabus parsing), personalizing your dashboard and recommendations, processing subscriptions and payments, sending important account notifications, analyzing usage patterns to improve the app, and protecting against fraud and abuse.
4. AI & Data Processing
Some features use third-party AI services (such as OpenAI) to process your academic data. When you upload a syllabus or use AI features, relevant data is sent to these services for processing. We do not use your academic data to train AI models. Data sent to AI providers is processed in accordance with their privacy policies and our data processing agreements with them.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate the app (Supabase for database hosting, Stripe for payments, Vercel for hosting, and OpenAI for AI features). We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), secure authentication via Supabase Auth, and row-level security on database access. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can export or delete your data from the Settings page in the app, or by contacting us at hello@ovrit.app. If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the CCPA. If you are in the EU/EEA, you have rights under the GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Third-party services we integrate with may set their own cookies in accordance with their privacy policies.
9. Children's Privacy
OVR Mission Control is designed for college students aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
